Despite living in Mesa for almost 15 years, I hadn’t attended the Mesa home tour yet. So this year I was determined to go! It was a blast, and really inspiring to see how people incorporate new and old items in their homes. I took a bunch of pictures and I thought I’d share some of the highlights with you! How cute is the outside of this house? I love the red, grey and white.
The living room here was picturesque and traditional. It really feels so warm and inviting. I am oh-so-jealous of those high ceilings!
Tuesdays with Dorie’s back porch looked straight out of a magazine. I would love to cuddle up with a book back there. And doesn’t that light fixture look like a perfect DIY project?
The wall color in this living room goes amazingly with the brick fireplace and wood floors, and those silhouettes of the family are amazing!
This large framed photograph in one of the homes was stunning, look at all of those fashionable ladies!
This detail was also in Dorie’s home. How cute is that, framing flashcards. Not many dogs eat in such style!
This fireplace look familiar? Gotta love these retro fireplaces, in and out of the house.
This traditional dining room really puts their blue and white china on perfect display and I am really loving that collection of trays on the wall.
This old coffee grinder looked like it had been built with the house. I don’t know how well it works but it just looked perfect in their kitchen.
And lastly, I got a lesson in vignettes at Dories’s house. I never would have thought to arrange books that way, with an old frame for a tray too, genius!
It was really a fun tour and I would encourage you to go next year if you can. I like to think some of their items came from our shop, but who knows! All of these homes incorporated new and old objects so wonderfully. It was really inspiring and gave me some DIY ideas for this coming year, so stay tuned!
